The best way to describe the project were doing is by photos of the process, and actually having samples of your videos for guests to experience in google cardboard or oculus. There should also be a group of people, most likely the producers, who can explain the money aspect of this project, and the different guilds there were and the hiring process. There should also be another group of programers and 3D modelers who can explain and demonstrate how to do a simple task on unity or blender, so guests can learn how to start developing a VR world. People from other guilds can explain the project in whole, and focus on the bigger picture of how VR worlds can influence our opinions and biases. I think during this project we really implemented Dewey's ideas in the sense that we were on our own trying to learn. I think it would have been better we had more instruction time because it was a bit all over the place. Pink's argument about motivation can be seen throughout this project because our motivation was not the creativity, it was the money. We all just wanted to reach a certain amount of money to get a good grade, so we didn't have the opportunity to put all of our effort into creating something we would be proud of.

This week, my biggest celebration was earning around six hundred dollars in total. I finally got to work for the jobs I was hired for, and also made money getting hired on small spontaneous jobs that helped me earn more money. A time I have experienced cognitive dissonance during this project was this week when Dr. Don lowered our grades if we didn't meet the amount of money we were supposed to have this far in the project. I didn't think it was fair to lower our grades if our jobs we were hired for were for later in the project. In the end, I realized that I didn't have to worry because I knew that by the end of the project, I would have enough money and my grade would go back up. My view on hashtag activism changed because in the beginning of the week I thought that hashtag activism was an excuse to not actually participate in a movement. As we talked about it more and more and shared our views, I realized that hashtag activism is actually I really big part in spreading the word about a certain topic, and it allows everyone to have a voice. The articles themselves didn't really changed my point of view and I still didn't understand the other side from reading them. hat really shifted my opinion was when the class got in groups and shared their opinions. Once I got to hear the opposite side, I realized just how much of an impact hashtag activism has on real world issues and how much it can do for a group of people who otherwise wouldn't have that strong of a voice.
So far in the VR project, I have secured jobs later on in the project that will give me the amount of money I need to get a good grade. I have been doing professional development the days where I didn't have a job, and I have also been doing admin jobs for the documentarian position. I think I have been doing a pretty good job balancing my time and making sure I am putting in the time and effort into this project. Also, I feel that with college apps and everything that goes along with it, I have been really trying to balance my time and not get overly stressed.
Learning how much advertisement influences the decisions we make even when we don't realize it is crazy. Up until now, I ever took the time to really consider and analyze why I buy the certain things I do, or why I want to buy certain things that I don't really know what they are. It is all from advertisement and how much it influences our minds. Although, I don't think this persuasion is entirely bad because companies are obviously benefitting from it, and so are consumers because they are able to find products that are known and trustworthy. What is working well right now in this project is that you are able to choose what job you partake in. Also, I think the timesheet system is very organized and lets everyone keep track of there hours, all though sometimes people forget to log their hours and that doesn't allow them to get paid. A suggestion would be to have more time to log your hours, just in case we aren't able to log them that day.
When I am in a distracted place and can't concentrate, I usually go somewhere where I won't be distracted. In the event that I can't leave to go work somewhere else, I would put my ear phones in to block out noise or other people. And if I don't have my earphones, the last thing I would do would be to set small gas for my self such as for 10 mins I get 1 thing done, then take a break, and repeat. Words are the one thing that influences us the most. Whenever we hear someones opinion on something, our opinion shifts either a little more towards their way of believing, or a little more towards our stance on the subject. We can't possibly get away from the persuasion of words. so we need to be aware of the fact that everything we hear has an influence on us, whether we realize it or not. 1) The most disturbing prediction in the Singularity reading was that the internet is taking up so much of our lives, and will soon take over all of our jobs. I feel like in the near future, we won't have to really put effort in anything because we will completely rely on the internet, and that scares me.
2) The job fair/interview was a good way to remember all of the VR projects that you could sign up for, and also to see who you might want to work for later on. The interviews were helpful more for the producers to pick and choose who to hire and discuss somethings prior to hiring you onto a job. It could have been more authentic by allowing everyone the same job opportunity to make sure everyone has a chance at getting a job, and others don't take over every job, 3) Advertising shapes our society in many ways because we are constantly around it, it would be almost impossible to not be influenced by it in some way. Advertisers shouldn't be allowed to deceive consumers as much as they do because it is not fair. Companies should have to make sure that the first impression consumers get from their advertisement, is what the advertisement is actually showing. This week for engineering I have been learning how to program in Unity. I have been looking at tutorials for the Unity software and learning the different parts of it. I have worked on learning the roll a ball tutorial and learning the basic skills needed to create a game. The struggles that I have had were that programing takes a lot of patience and I sometimes get frustrated when I can't figure something out. I have had to watch videos over and over again to get a simple skill down, as well as ask other programmers when I need help with something.
